Remember that these are ready-made sentences that are going to help you because you don’t need to reinvent the wheel – why not study and use these sentences? You may modify them to suit your own needs. Vamos lá!

  • A Telefonista / Recepcionista – The operator

O senhor/senhora/você gostaria de marcar um horário? – Would you like to make an appointment? Estamos sem horário esta semana. – We’re really busy this week. Sinto muito, estamos lotados na quarta. – I’m so sorry, Wednesday is full. O senhor pode na sexta? – Could you make it on Friday? Na sexta fica melhor para você? – Is Friday better for you? Eu ligo se alguém ligar cancelando. – I’ll call you if there are any cancellations. Posso encaixá-lo hoje à tarde. – I could squeeze you in for this afternoon. O que é melhor para você: de manhã ou à tarde? – What’s better for you: the morning of afternoon? Às dez horas fica bom? – How’s 10am for you? Então, posso marcar para às dez? – So, can I put you down for 10am? OK, nos vemos na sexta, então. – OK, so we’ll see you Friday, then.

  • Marcando um horário – A person making the appointment

Você tem algo disponível na sexta-feira às dez? – Do you have anything available on Friday at 10am? Na quinta fica muito ruim para mim. – Thursday is really bad for me. Pode ser outro dia? – Can it be some other day? Será que você consegue me encaixar hoje? – Can you maybe squeeze me in today?

Por hoje é só - That's all for today.

Nos vemos em breve! - See you soon!

*Senhor e Senhora é mais formal do que você, porém dependendo do local um ou outro pode ser usado.
