I have a variety of students that are interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese but here are some reasons:

• Entrepreneurs doing business in Brazil;

• They are married to a Brazilian citizen

• They have a girlfriend/boyfriend from Brazil so they want to learn the language to comunicate.

• Distant relatives in Brazil;

• Was born in Brazil and wants to reconnect with their homeland;

• Going for the 2014 World Cup or 2016 Olympics;

• Tourism and in need of basic expressions for their trip and also a first contact with the language;

• Some think that Brazilian Portuguese is beautiful as a song and they think that we are singing.
